Geir Danielsen

Geir has more than 30 years' experience from the railway sector, where he has held several leading roles, including in management and administration, logistics (route and capacity planning) and project management and operational roles in railway operations. He has taken a Master of Management at BI and has an education in project management from Telemark University College. Furthermore, he has extensive additional training in safety and quality management from NTNU, UiS and NMBU. In Railsupport, Geir is responsible for Traffic management and capacity.

Geir has held a position in Bane NOR as project manager for TMS (Traffic Management System) in the ERTMS program, as well as participated in various projects related to ERTMS, including the implementation of ERTMS on the pilot section Østre linje. Geir has also participated in the development of new regulations (TRJ 2000), the preparation of security and emergency plans and the introduction of occupational psychology tests and a simulator for training in traffic management.

He has also been head of the traffic control center in Oslo in addition to working as a train conductor and shift leader. He has also been head of the investigation and analysis unit in the Norwegian Railways, and for a period led the transport management for freight traffic on a national basis in NSB Gods.

For a period from 2008 to 2011, he worked in the Norwegian Railway Authority as a senior adviser and audit manager. The task was, among other things, audits of railway companies, permits, market surveillance etc

From 2019, Geir has been the day-to-day manager of a business within contracting and digital development aimed at rail transport and also had some consulting tasks aimed at the train companies.
