The Norwegian Accident Investigation Board visits Railsupport
This week, Railsupport organized its regular afternoon meeting, where we had exciting railway-related presentations from both internal and external speakers.
This time we had a visit from the Railway Department of the National Accident Investigation Board, represented by Department Director Ida H. Grøndahl.
The railway department of the National Accident Investigation Board investigates serious railway incidents and railway accidents involving railways, trams, light rail and subways. From 1 January 2024, their mandate was extended to also cover serious incidents and accidents with cable cars and amusement facilities.
Ida talked about the Accident Investigation Board's structure and their interdisciplinary work in investigations, which also includes Aviation, Maritime Affairs, Roads and the Armed Forces. She also brought up topics such as the learning they acquire through their work, the purpose of investigations, and what is highlighted in an investigation report.
Thank you very much for the exciting lecture.
